Our Story

About the Dozier Family Reunion

The Dozier Family Reunion celebrates the legacy of Anthony Dozier, Sr. and Salina Dozier of Salters, South Carolina — the roots from which our family tree has grown for generations. Their children — Anthony Jr., Dearie, Ned, and Robert Dozier, along with Gydea, Maggie, and Lizzie McCullough, three daughters who were separated from the family and sold into slavery — represent both the resilience and the enduring bond that define who we are as a family.

Since our very first gathering 42 years ago at Williamsburg Blakely High School in Salters, SC, we have come together to honor that bond, reconnect across branches, and ensure that the story of where we come from is never forgotten.

This year's reunion theme, "Dozier Family Homecoming 2026" carries special meaning — drawing on the spirit of the high school tradition we all know and love, but bringing it full circle as we return to our home state of South Carolina. From Williamsburg County to the shores of Myrtle Beach, this is our homecoming.

Welcome home, family.
